This lavish interactive book, written by Dylan Nash, designed by Mike Sund, and published by Intervisual, reads like a paleontologist’s exhaustively researched and meticulously well-documented field notebook. In between the padded, embossed leatherette covers are faux weather-beaten pages that are smudged with fingerprints, patched with tape, spattered with ink and filled with a wealth of dinosaur facts.
I created over 75 paintings and drawings for this book, an elaborate Tyrannosaurus rex pop-up and a unique punctuated equilibrium timeline that depicts the wobbling interplay between species diversity and extinction.
