Five Arts Centre is one of Malaysia's premier training, performing, exhibition and art institutions. It is based in the capital, Kuala Lumpur. The Company's principal areas of work are dance, drama, visual art, performance/installation art, and children's theatre.

When Five Arts asked me to design its logo, I was stumped. How to represent art simply and elegantly? How to give all five arts equal billing? After much sweat and prognostication, I was still stumped. Then I noticed my hand: five fingers for the five arts. A concept as old as homo sapiens. I rolled some ink on my palm, pressed it on a sheet of paper and submitted the concept. It stuck.
