For Scholastic's "My Name is America" faux diary, The Journal of Patrick Seamus Flaherty, I was asked to create a Vietnam War-era military topographical map of the Khe Sanh village region. It so happens one can buy such maps - covering much larger areas - on EBay. Although my map deletes many details and rearranges elements, it reproduces the grim, no-nonsense style and coloration of a 60s DoD topo chart. The project was executed in Illustrator and Photoshop.
